A complete kit of products used in foaling.
The kit contains the following:
2 pairs of disposable gloves to not spread hand bacteria.
1 pc. Alcogel to clean the hands and keep bacteria away.
2 pairs of rectal gloves if there is a need to feel vaginally how the foal is lying.
1 pc. chlorhexidine is poured into a cup and the umbilical stump is dipped into the liquid to be cleaned.
2 pcs. towels were used to wipe the foal and mare.
1 pc. refractometer was used to check the quality of the colostrum so that there are enough antibodies from the mare. The foal is born without antibody protection and therefore it is important that the foal ingests the colostrum within two hours of birth, as this provides the foal with immune protection.
1 breast pump was used to get the milk out of the udder.
1 feeding bottle was used for milk replacement if the mare does not give enough milk or the quality is too low.
4 pcs. Micro enema as mare and foal can get constipation.
1 thermometer with rocker to check that mare and foal have not got a fever.
Cotton, gauze and wheatgrass are for cleaning and tying up tail etc.
