At the end there is a loop where a strap can be attached around the hand. This prevents the temperature from slipping out of your hand if the horse or other animal is not standing still. The last measured value is saved. You can easily display the last measured temperature. By holding down the power switch on the temperature gauge for more than three seconds, the last measured value is displayed. When you release the power switch, you can start the next measurement.
